DUAFE is one of many Adinkra symbols created by the Akan people of Ghana. It represents the beauty of a woman, her prudness, her fondness, her ability to love, nurture, care for for herself and others and her femininity. The Symbol depicts an elaborate comb used by the Akan women to loc and create the coiffure (hairstyle/headdress).
